제목 | Facile synthesis of brookite nanobullets array, and its enhanced Photoelectrochemical properties with Hydrogen doping |
초록 | TiO2 has been considered as promising materials for optoelectrical applications including photovoltaic cells, optical sensors, and dye-sensitized solar cells. TiO2 has three major crystalline polymorphs: rutile, anatase, and brookite. Research on Brookite has been less focused on compared to anatase and rutile, because brookite rarely exists in nature, and it is difficult to synthesize. In this work, hydrogen doped brookite (H:brookite) nanobullets array were synthesized via a well-designed solution reaction for the first time. The morphology was observed using SEM and TEM, and the crystalline structure was confirmed by SAED pattern of TEM and XRD analysis. H:brookite shows highly improved PEC properties compared to other TiO2 nanostructures with excellent stability, enhanced photocurrent, and significantly high Faradaic efficiency for overall solar water splitting. To support the experimental data, ab initio density functional theory calculations were also conducted. The calculated density of states of H:brookite shows a narrowed bandgap and an increased electron density compared to the pristine brookite. |
