Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) reaction has been widely investigated to produce value-added hydrocarbons from syngas. Among a lot of active metals, iron-based FTS catalyst has been intensively investigated due to its lower cost, and high activities even at various operation conditions. In general, various iron carbide phases such as χ-Fe5C2 and θ-Fe3C can be formed which were reported as active phases for FTS reaction. These iron carbide phases can be synthesized using a simple pyrolysis method of metal-organic framework (MOF). By changing the pyrolysis conditions such as temperature or its duration time, iron carbide phases with various porosity and crystallite sizes can be synthesized, and the effects of these preparation factors were investigated in the present work. |
