Batch type experiments of U(VI) and Th(IV) sorption on the crushed granite were carried out by measuring the distribution coefficient (Kd). Kd values for U(VI) sorption of granite were 3.38～11.02 mL/g and Kd,avg = 7.07 mg/L, when [U(VI)]tot = 10-6M. The Kd values for U(VI) were increased to the range of 17.10～234.24 mL/g (Kdavg = 22.24 mL/g) as the dissolved U(VI) concentration was decreased to 10-7M. On the other hand, Kd values for Th(IV) were measured to be in the range of 1,114.64～1,831.39 mL/g (Kdavg = 1,586.63 mL/g) at [Th(IV)]tot = 10-6M, while Kd values for Th(IV) were 902.48～2,079.29 mL/g (Kdavg = 1,353.80 mL/g) at [Th(IV)]tot = 10-7M. |
