Electrochemical Performances of Nanosized Fe3O4/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes for Supercapacitor Using Sulfite Electrolyte Solutions |

In this study, Fe3O4 nanoparticles dispersed multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) for supercapacitor electrodes were synthesized and characterized in sulfite electrolyte solutions. Nano-Fe3O4 was deposited by chemical coprecipitation of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in the presence of MWNTs in alkaline solutions. The electrochemical performance of the Fe3O4/CNTs supercapacitor electrodes was tested by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests. The results showed that the Fe3O4/MWNTs had a significantly greater specific capacitance than that of the pristine MWNTs in the same medium and could keep 82% of initial capacity over 500 cycles. |
