제목 Hydrophobic Modification of PMMA-silca Core-shell Particles with Fluoroalkylsilanes
초록 Super hydrophobic PMMA-silica particles were prepared from poly(methyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate), tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and fluoroalkylsilanes. Cross-linked PMMA polymer particles were synthesized by emulsifier-free emulsion copolymerization. Silica with uniform wall thickness was then coated using TEOS via the Stober mehtodin the presence of ammonia catalyst. Fluoroalkylsilanes were used to modify the PMMA-silica core-shell particles. The hydrophobicity of the particles as a function of the fluoroalkyl chain lengths was examined by contact angle measurements with water and hexadecane.
