Catalytic performance of MOF-801 catalyst for the cycloaddition of epoxides and CO2 |

Carbon dioxide has been recognized to be a useful source for the synthesis of cyclic carbonate from CO2-epoxide fixation reaction through a eco-friendly route. In this study, MOF-801 has been synthesized using solvothermal method. The synthesized MOF-801 was characterized using various analytical techniques. The synthesized MOF-801 showed excellent catalytic activity for the synthesis of cyclic carbonate from epoxide and CO2. Reaction parameters were optimized by altering the reaction conditions. Recyclability of MOF-801 was tested up to five times without any considerable change in catalytic activity. Finally, a reaction mechanism for MOF-801 catalyzed cycloaddition reaction was proposed based on our previous DFT results. |
