제목 | Effect of pH and Temperature on the Formation of BaTiO3 Nano Particles by Gel-Sol Method |
초록 | Barium titanate(BaTiO3) is perovskite-type ferroelectric material used in multilayer capacitors, thermistors, and electooptic devices. Barium titanate is conventionally produced by solid-state reactions between BaCO3 and TiO2 at high temperature. However, the conventional method has several problems in interparticle sintering and contamination problems in the calcination and required milling steps. For those reasons, liquid-state reaction has received increased attention due to the ability to produce high purity, fine powder with good chemical homogeneity at lower temperature. In this study, titanium isopropoxide(IV) and barium acetate were used to fabricate barium titanate by gel-sol method. In addition, acetic acid(AcOH) was used to modify activity and reaction rate of titanium isopropoxide(IV). This is due to the complex ability of acetate ligands. Using Ba-Ti gel derived from the system Ba(OOCCH3)-H2O-CH3COOH-Ti(iOPR)4 as precursors and KOH as a precipitating agent, cubic BaTiO3 powders have been synthesized by controlling only the pH and temperature without hydrothermal or sintering processes. |
