Two-dimensional (2D) structures are emerging as potential biomedical materials. In this study, Ti3C2 MXene particles having a two-dimensional layered structure were transformed by intercalation and evaluated for their potential as biomaterials using human mesenchymal stem cells. The modified MXene was characterized via microstructure, FT-IR, and size analysis. Cell proliferation experiments using MXene particles confirmed that it was cytotoxic at concentrations above 50 μg/mL, while promoting osteogenic differentiation at concentrations below 20 μg/mL. In this study, it was confirmed that MXene effectively promotes early and late osteogenic gene expression. |
