Synthesis and characterization of AgInS2 Nanocrystals by sulfurization of microwave assisted precursor |

AgInS2 (AIS) nanocrystals (NCs) have been synthesized by two-step process of solution-based precursor powder and post-annealing route. In the first step, the precursor powders were obtained by irradiating microwave at 700W for 5 min from aqueous solutions containing Ag, In and S salts. In the second step, the precursor powder was sulfurized using a tubular two zone furnace system in mixed atmosphere of N2 (95%) + H2S (5%) at 580℃ for 1h. Effect of Ag concentration for a precursor solution on the structural, morphological and optical properties of AIS NCs were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-visible spectroscopy, respectively. XRD, Raman and TEM results for AIS NCs indicated that characteristics were strongly related to the Ag concentration for precursor solution and plays a key role in the synthesis of AIS NCs. Further detailed analysis and discussion of the sulfurized AIS NCs will be discussed. |
