Fabrication of Mesoporous Silica Particles with Insect Repellent |

The defective foods caused by the pest in the packages often are unhealthful for the consumer in quality of the packaged foods. The anti-insect packaging materials for a master batch were fabricated by impregnation of an insect repellent in mesoporous silica particles such as AEROSIL. The objective of this research is to fabricate novel an insect repellents and to find an appropriate condition under which these repellents can be incorporated into packaging master batch. The repellent's capacities of the mesoporous silica materials were investigated by TGA. The specific surface area were determined by N2 adsorption by BET method with samples degassed at 120℃ for 2 hours in dry N2 flow. The composition was determined thorough elemental analysis and FTIR spectroscopy. The insect repellent impregnated AEROSIL reach up to 50 wt% on the basis of the total weight. |
