Polymer nanoparticles have been used as drug delivery systems. In this study, biodegradable PLGA-PEI nanoparticles were prepared and characterized as drug delivery systems. Copolymers were synthesized by directly coupling PLGA to amine group of PEI. And particles were prepared by a nanoprecipitation method. Targeting moiety was conjugated PLGA-PEI nanoparticles containing drug for active targeting. Morphology, size, drug loading efficiency as well as drug release profiles of the nanoparticles were characterized by SEM, DLS, UV spectrophotometer, respectively. And the chemical structure of the particles was confirmed at each step by FT-IR and 1H-NMR. Moreover, the site-specific targeting characteristics of prepared particles were confirmed with comparison of receptor overexpressed and deficient cell lines by flow cytometry.
