For the production of hydrogen-rich syngas, the steam reforming of propane (SRP) has been investigated due to its easy-liquefying nature with a higher capacity for hydrogen production per its unit volume than that of methane. The supported Ni-based reforming catalysts are preferred in industries due to their low cost, however the thermal instability and severe coke deposition have induced a significant deactivation of the Ni-based catalysts. To overcome the limitations, the metal-support interaction between the Ni nanoparticles and cobalt-embedded Al2O3 support was mediated, where the cobalt promoter largely enhanced the catalytic activity and stability due to its intrinsic oxophilic natures. |
