Conjugated organic polymers obtained from acetylene derivatives have been studied as organic semiconductors, as membranes for gas separation and for liquid-mixture separation, as materials for chemical sensors, and as materials for nonlinear optical property and for photoluminescence and electroluminescence properties. Here we report the polymerization behaviors of thiophene derivatives with acetylene functionality by using various transition metal catalysts. In general, the catalytic activities of W-based catalysts were found to be more high for the present polymerization than those of Mo-based catalysts. The thermal and electrical properties were measured and discussed. |
