A study on thermal stability and fracture toughness of ozone-treated single-walled carbon nanotube / basalt fibers / epoxy composites |

In this study, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were treated with ozone. Ozone-treated single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were observed for surface properties using FT-IR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and were used in epoxy composites. Ozone treated SWCNT / basalt fibers / epoxy composites were prepared to observe thermal stability, and fracture toughness. thermal stability was tested using a thermal weight analyzer (TGA). The fracture toughness was measured by the critical stress intensity factor (KIC) the morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that the thermal and mechanical interface properties of SWCNT / basalt fibers / epoxy composites treated with ozone are greatly improved. |
