제목 Removal of β2-Microglobulin (β2m) by Seed Conjugated PEI Nano Fiber
초록 β2-Microglobulin (β2m) is a kind of amyloid protein, which is known to be a major factor for dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA). Renal failure disrupts the process of catabolic β2m degradation in the kidney, which results in the increased β2m level (about 30-50 times higher than normal) in the patient’s blood stream. To remove the excess amount of monomeric β2m, we have developed a simple adsorption method by immobilized ligands on a polymer support. Therefore, we prepared β2m fibril fragments as a seed, and coupled them to a polymer support (PEI nano fiber). We found that the seed ligand initiated the aggregation of β2m monomer on it and thus,reduced the concentration of β2m effectively byself-seeding effect.
