Colloidal silica and silane hybrid sols were synthesized in variation with reaction time and kind of silane by sol-gel reaction. Sol-gel process is an effective technique for the synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid materials. This work focuses on the effect of chain of organoalkoxysilanes, methyl-trimethoxysilane, propyl-trimethoxysilane and octyl-trimethoxysilane. To observe the stability of sol solutions, viscosity and transmittance were measured with respect to reaction time and kind of silane. Thermal property of organic-inorganic hybrid sol was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis. Coating films of sol solutions were performed on the glass substrates by spin-coater. Contact angle and surface roughness of coating films were measured in variation with reaction time and kind of silane. |
