The cobalt-ferrite (CoFe2O4) as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries has attracted attention due to its high theoretical specific capacity (914 mAh g-1), low cost, and high chemical stability. Similar to other ternary transition spinel ferrite, CoFe2O4 faces severe problems such as rapid capacity decay, and poor capacity retention. To enhance electrochemical performance, triple-shelled CoFe2O4 microsphere encapsulated in rGO (CoFO@rGO) were synthesized by hydrothermal method of solution containing cobalt, iron ion, sucrose in EG aqueous solution, followed by heat treatment, and encapsulation process of CoFO into the graphene with the assistant of silane coupling agent. The CoFO@rGO offers better electrochemical performance due to its 2D structure which allows facile electron transfer by decreasing resistance in both electron and electrolyte flow and maintaining structural integrity. |
