Novel egg albumen assisted polymerization route for water dispersible polypyrrole dispersion |

We report the synthesize of stable polypyrrole dispersion by chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole using aqueous ferric chloride solution, in presence of biological and environmentally friendly, water soluble portion of egg albumen as stabilizer. In the polymerization reaction, the amount of stabilizer was varied to study the effect of stabilizer on morphology of the polypyrrole dispersion. Polypyrrole dispersion was characterized by FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy and DLS analysis. The morphology of polypyrrole particles was studied by SEM analysis. The inter-molecular binding between the egg albumen and the polypyrrole increase the stability of the dispersion |
