Graphene oxide (GO) is great interest due to its low cost, easy access, and widespread ability to convert to graphene. In this work, graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by the modified Hummers method from graphite. The homogenizer process accelerated the nondestructive exfoliation of graphite oxide due to slippage of the GO was induced in the in-plan direction by shear stress. The exfoliated graphene was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The structure of the GO was identified by fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and raman spectroscopy. The resulting graphene oxide materials are adaptable to a wide variety of applications and fields. |
