제목 Alkyl group-Modified  Mesoporous Silica as VOCs adsorbent
초록 VOCs removal has recently attracted great attention because of deteriorative effects of VOCs in product quality. Mesoporous silicas are considered as advantageous adsorbents because they have large surface area, pore volume, pore diameter and possibility of modification. Especially, in many mesoporous silicas, we used SBA-15 prepared using a triblock copolymer as template with thick pore wall that is based on hydrothermal stability. Because VOCs generally are mixed with a lot of moisture, we modified SBA-15 with alkyl group to be hydrophobic. This modification helps the adsorbent to avoid absorbing water. We synthesized SBA-15 successfully and sylilated using alkyl silane. Compared with pure SBA-15, TMCS modified SBA-15 has good VOCs adsorbability especially about toluene. Alkyl group modified SBA-15 was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm (BET) Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and so on.
