The SnO-embedded carbon nanofibers (SnO/CNF) as an anode material for lithium ion battery were prepared by an electrospinning, and followed by proper thermal process. The high dispersed SnO in CNF enable electrochemical performance to increase, due to i) the promotion of ion transfer by easily approaching lithium ions to the embedded SnO nanoparticles in CNF with fully interconnected network structures, ii) the decrease in volume change, pulverization, and internal stress by the nanosize (≈2 nm) of SnO particles, and iii) the increase in electrochemical sites by high dispersibility of SnO nanoparticles in CNF. As a result, the retention capacity of SnO/CNF was higher than that of pure SnO or pure CNF. |
