Colloidal quantumdots (QDs) are promising materials for future display due to their narrow emission bandwidth, ease of color tunability, and higher color purity. Because of these advantages, QDs are exploited as the emissive layers (EML) of light-emitting diodes or QLEDs, and significant advances have been made in terms of the luminance, external quantum efficiency, and lifetime. Since QDs are processed based on solution,as-deposited QD layers are prone to delaminate during the subsequent deposition of other functional layers, which may lower the production yield and degrade the operational stability of QLEDs. Here, we present a method to enhance the adhesion between QD layer and the underneath electron transport layer using aphotocrosslinker that enhances the adhesion based on chemical bonding formation(referred to as inter-layer crosslinking). We analyze adhesion of the QD layer, change of the interfacial structure (through X-ray measurement), and operational stability of QLEDs. |
