Polystyrene/multi-walled carbon nanotube, PS/MWCNT, was prepared with co-rotating twin screw extruder. PS/MWCNT was prepared by diluting highly concentrated MWCNT masterbatch chips. We investigated the effect of processing condition such as, screw speed, feeding rate and barrel temperature. The rheological and mechanical properties of nanocomposites as increasing contents of MWCNT were investigated with the processing conditions being fixed at optimum value. An ARES rotational rheometer was used to measure the complex viscosity and modulus. Storage modulus of nanocomposites was checked with DMA. We also confirmed the morphology of nanocomposites as increase of loading contents of MWCNT by scanning electron microscope (SEM). |
