Membrane-based gas separation is challenging since it requires discrimination of subtle difference in the size of gas molecules. Besides, an inherent drawback of polymeric membranes, so-called the tradeoff between permeability and selectivity is problematic. Mixed matrix membranes (MMMs), consisting of polymer matrix and inorganic molecular sieves are promising to address the current polymeric membrane-associated issue. In this talk, formation and application of inorganic molecular sieves-containing MMMs will be discussed. |
