Recently, photovoltaic (PV) cells based on conjugated polymers have been actively researched for low-cost alternatives to conventional inorganic PV cells. Efficiencies up to 5 % have been demonstrated for the polymer/fullerene blend devices. Although this system is currently the best conjugate polymer-based PV cell in terms of device performance, hybrid PV cells consisting of semiconducting polymers and nanocrystalline inorganic semiconductors such as TiO2 have recently received attention as a promising approach because of their high stability. In this study, we suggest a new architecture of polymer-based PV cell, which is composed of polymer/fullerene blend as well as nanocrystalline TiO2 for making the device with high stability and performance. |
