Preparation and characterization of self-charring oligomeric TRITONTM X-based nanocrystalline TiO2 dispersions for photovoltaic cells |

This presentation describes the synthesis of a series of TRITONTM X-based surfactants with an octyl phenol ethoxylate (OPE) backbone and a phosphate ester chain end. The phosphate-terminated TRITONTM X of the highest number of oxyethylene units (i.e. OPE10-OPO(OH)2) gave the desirable amount of char (9 wt%) at 600 C under air condition, and was found to be the dispersant showing the lowest viscosity of [TiO2/ethyl cellulose/terpineol] paste. The dispersion ability of OPE10-OPO(OH)2 could contribute to increase Jsc by improving packaging density and the uniform porosity of the TiO2 electrode. And the self-charring effect of OPE10-OPO(OH)2 could contribute to increase Voc by reducing recombination. |
