제목 Toughening of Epoxy by Electrospun Nylon6/Clay Nanocomposite Nanofiber
초록 Nanofiber reinforced plastic composites have received attention due to effective tonghening effect of the nanofiber. Electrospinning is an interesting process for producing non-woven nanofibers with the average diameters in the range of micro to nanometers. In this study, we prepared nylon6/clay nanocomposite nanofiber web by electrospinning. The non-woven fabrics were impregnated with the epoxy to prepare the composite. The single notched fracture toughness test was performed with the aid of a three-point bending apparatus with a fixed support distance of 24mm. Scanning electron and transmitted optical microscopy show that crack propagation was effectively hindered by the plastic deformation caused by the nanofiber. Effect of clay content in the nanocomposite nanofiber on the performance of the composite was examined.
