제목 Continuous fabrication of tunable structural colored microfiber in microfluidic system
초록 This study presents continuous fabrication of tunable structural colored microfiber in a microfluidic system. Tunable structural colored fiber, which is referred to mechanochromic fiber, is continuously generated by in situ photocuring of a colloidal ink. The microfluidic jetting is generated by injecting sheath flow of immiscible carrier fluid into the microfluidic device. As low interfacial tension between colloidal ink and carrier fluid, the jet flows downstream of the chip in a stable manner. The jet is continuously exposed to UV at the exit of the microfluidic channel for photopolymerization of colloidal ink. The resulting fibers dynamically show reversible color change properties with stretching and releasing the fiber. The thickness of microfibers can be readily manipulated by flow rate of the continuous and dispersed phases. Moreover, this system is potentially possible to produce Janus fiber by parallelly injecting two colloidal inks which possess two distinct colors.
