제목 Physicochemical properties of silane-modified polyurethane dispersion
초록 Silane coupling agents have unique properties such as low surface energy, high flexibility, transparency, hydrophobicity, and good thermal stability. In this study, polyurethane dispersion (PUD) was modified with 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (APS) to improve some of their disadvantages (low mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and water resistance). The chemical reaction of polyurethane with APS was confirmed through FT-IR analysis. In addition, the changes of particle size and storage stability of PUD according to the APS content were evaluated. The silane-modified PUD film was prepared by a sol-gel process. As the content of APS increased, the chemical resistance and mechanical properties of the film improved, whereas the transparency of the film decreased.
