Preparation and Release Property of Alginate Microsphere Immobilizing hydroxyethyl acrylate-coumarin acrylate-ethylhexyl acrylate copolymer |

Alginate microsphere was used to prepare W/O emulsion method, then adding calcium chloride as a crosslinker to form the gel, filtrating and washing, we obtain th microsphere. Alginate microspheres containing hydroxyethyl acrylate-coumarin acrylate-ethylhexyl acrylate(HEA-AC-EHA) copolymer were prepared. HEA-AC-EHA is usually used as tempreature-senstive material. The lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the polymer was found on a UV/Vis spectrometer. LCST of copolymers is about 27oC. The copolymers can be used as release controlled valve in drug delivery vehicles like alginate microsphere. The temperature-dependent release property of the microsphere was observed using FITC-dextran (Fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran) as a dye. Around 60% was released in 8h according to our study. |
