Recently, paper-based solid-phase sensors have been developed to run indicator, such as litmus paper, pH-test paper. So, we applied paper-based solid-phase to fluorescent sensor with water-soluble conjugated polymer (WSCP). WSCP has been widely used for amino acids sensing due to their distinct optical response in the presence of different analytes. In addition, WSCP can be used to amplify fluorescent signals, and consequently have attracted attention as materials for optical bimolecular sensors. The detection of important biological thiols such as cysteine (cys) is highly relevant to a variety of fundamental physiological processes in organisms. In this study, we investigated WSCPs sensor used to detect cysteine via aldehyde-cysteine reaction. We found that this polymer exhibited a visually noticeable yellow to blue fluorescence color change in the paper format system. |
