제목 Polymer electrolytes with electrospun PVDF membrane
초록 With growth of nanotechnology, electrospinning has received a great deal of attention. Electrospinning is one of the attractive methods that prepare highly porous membrane with submicro-ordered fibers, small pore size and high surface area. PVDF membrane is made by electrospinning using Kynar 761. This membrane has 3D-network structure that consists of nano-ordered fiber with fully interconnected pores. Apparent porosity of this membrane is about 88%. Therefore, liquid is easily inserted into and bound to the pores in this membrane. This membrane has sufficient mechanical strength to use a polymer matrix. Due to unique properties of electrospun membrane, this membrane make possible to use polymer matrix in lithium polymer battery.
Polymer electrolyte that composed of electrospun PVDF membrane, solvents and lithium hexafluorophosphate is prepared. Crystallinity of PVDF is reduced by insertion of liquid electrolyte. Electrochemical properties are influenced by reduction of crystallinity. These polymer electrolytes exhibit ionic conductivities in excess of 1.0×10-3 S/㎝ at 20℃. Electrochemical stabilities of polymer electrolytes increase with storage time of polymer matrix. It may be that polymer matrix is swelled by liquid electrolyte and free liquid electrolyte in pores tightly is bound to polymer matrix and do not remained in polymer electrolyte. These polymer electrolytes under storage during 12hours show electrochemical stability up to 4.5 V. In these results, electrospun membrane can be used in polymer matrix in lithium polymer battery.
