Carbon material has been regarded as potential candidate for highly efficient transportation of charges in optoelectronic and photovoltaic devices, owing to its chemical stability and photophysical properties. In this study, we have tested the possibility of using π-conjugated carbon materials as electrode and photoactive material in the photovoltaic materials, which is including carbon fiber, carbon nanofiber, carbon paper, carbon cloth, graphene, and fullerene. The surface of carbon was electrodeposited with conductive polymer as an electron donating layer or fullerene as an electron accepting layer. The coated carbon was combined with another heterojunction layer to be fabricated into web-type photovoltaic cells. The fabricated cells are aiming that they should be flexible and do not use any kind of transparent conducting ceramics such as ITO and FTO. The photovoltaic parameters were analysed in comparison with the conventional organic photovoltaic cells. |
