제목 Preparation of Dental Composite Resins Containing New Types of 3MA Mixture Prepolymers Alternative to Bisphenol A
초록 Typical dental restorative composite resins currently used contain a mixture of methacrylates, a photoinitiator system, and a large quantity of inorganic fillers.1 Photocurable dimethacrylates such as 2,2-bis[4-(2'-hydroxy-3'-methacryloyloxyproxy)phenyl]propane (Bis-GMA) are used in most commercial dental composites.2 However, this Bis-GMA contains bisphenol A which has an injurious effect on human bodies to be doubtful as an endocrine disrupter. Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical that uses to manufacture polycarbonate and numerous plastic articles. However, recent studies have shown that it can leach out from certain products, including the plastic lining of cans used for food, polycarbonate babies' bottles and tableware, and white dental filling resins and sealants.
In this study, four kinds of new types of 3MA prepolymers having similar structure with bisphenol A have been synthesized for alternative to bisphenol A and based on Bis-GMA substitute and its derivatives (3MA and 4MA) (Fig. 1).3 The chemical structures of the methacrylated 3MA prepolymers were identified by 1H NMR, FT-IR and GPC. The resulting methacrylated 3MA mixture perpolymers showed high yield and considerably low viscosity as compared to Bis-GMA control. In addition, The dental composite resins containing 3MA mixture prepolymers and inorganic fillers in addition to UDMA, TEGDMA, CQ, and EDMAB were prepared and characterized by photoconversion, polymerization shrinkage and depth, water absorption, and mechanical properties as compared with that comprising Bis-GMA control.
