In this study, we investigated that the fluorescence photobleaching phenomenon of conjugated polymer swelled in various solvent. Interestingly, UV-irradiated region of swelled polymer film in polar solvent showed rapid decrease in fluorescence intensity. It is ascribed to photoinduced electron transfer from polymer chain to solvent due to charge transfer complex(CTC) formation such as polymer+—solvent-. On the other hand, swelled polymer film in non-polar solvent did not show the fluorescence quenching. The fluorescence quenched region was quite stable even under dry condition, while rapidly recovered by amine-treatment or slowly recovered by aging in air. |
