제목 A novel and facile route to modify silica beads for adsorption of silver ions and support of silver nanoparticles
초록 In this paper, we report a novel and facile one-pot route for modification of silica beads with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) for adsorption of silver ions and support of silver nanoparticles. Silica gel was synthesized by a sol-gel method from H2SO4 40% and sodium silicate and crushed into beads with sizes ranging from 180-450 m. Then, silica beads were treated with a mixture of MPTMS, H2O, and C2H5OH at 50℃ for 12h. The functionalized silica beads were successfully applied for removal of silver ions from an aqueous solution with maximum adsorption of 75.8 mg/g. Silver nanoparticles were immobilized inside pore channels and on the surface of silica beads with average particle size about 5 nm.
