제목 | Multicolor-Encoded microspheres Based on Wavelength and Intensity Multiplexing of Metal Nanoparticles |
초록 | We have demonstrated a facile and versatile protocol to prepare multicolor colloidal metal nanoparticles of which colors are tuned by wavelength and intensity multiplexing. by mixing three color samples prepared by simple chemical synthetic method, at precisely controlled ration, we could tune the color of colloidal metal nanoparticles over a broad range of spectrum. We also fabricated multicolor-encoded microspheres tagged by metal nanoparticles mixture using self-assembly of the metal nanoparticles on amin-terminated polystyrene microspheres. Different arrangement of nanoparticles on polystyrene microspheres was observed according to pH of the reaction solution. To fabricate monodisperse microspheres with different arrangements of nanoparticles on the surface, further analysis on the effect of nanoparticles dimensions, the immersion time, and the chemical surface properties of the polymer particles, the colloid concentration in the solution should be studied in a detailed manner. The multicolor-tuned metal nanoparticles mixture can be incorporated into other types of microstructures such as incorporation into the microspheres (interior of polymer spheres, silica spheres or hydrogel spheres) or dispersion into polymer or silica film. As noted earlier, multicolor-encoded microspheres tagged with metal nanoparticles can be widely used for substrate for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), multiplexed optical barcoding, photonic crystals, colorimertic detection, flow cytometry, and cryptography. By combination of fluorescent and magnetic nanoparticles, those microspheres can be used more widely in bioassay and biomedical engineering. Fig. 1.
