제목 | Effect of bone marrow-derived stromal cells on tissue engineered spinal cord |
초록 | Several studies have been made on spinal cord regeneration by bone marrow-derived stromal cells (BMSCs). Transplantation of BMSCs has been regarded as a potential approach for promoting nerve regeneration. In this study, we made biodegradable implant using polyglycolide (PGA) nonwoven, Pluronic F127, and small intestinal submucosa (SIS) for tissue engineered spinal cord. BMSCs were harvested from the femur of adult female Fischer rat. Fischer rat received an implant consisting of the BMSCs in the gap (T8-T9; 5mm) created by the spinal cord resection. For histological evaluation, the implants were removed after 4~8 weeks. It was observed that the implant with BMSCs in neuroinduction are stronger than without BMSCs and blank. In conclusion, it seems that biodegradable implants act on useful guidance for spinal cord regeneration of tissue engineering.
