pH and electro-responsive release behavior of MWCNT/PVA/PAAc composite microcapsules |

The pH-responsive poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel microcapsules were prepared by the water-in-oil emulsion polymerization method. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes were incorporated into the poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel in order to improve the electrical conductivities. The morphology of microcapsules and the location of MWCNTs in the microcapsule shell were investigated by SEM and TEM. The dual pH and electro-responsive release behavior of the composite microcapsules had a close relation with the uniform distribution of MWCNTs in the microcapsule shell. |
