The use of supercritical fluids has recently received much attention in polymer modification and processing. In this study, we investigated the effect of treatment of supercritical CO2 on the variation of surface and bulk morphology of poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)/poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) blends, which is one of the few known miscible blends. The PMMA/PVDF blend samples with varying compositions were prepared by a melt blending using twin-screw extruder and a subsequent injection molding. Morphology changes of the blend as a function of blend composition and SC CO2 treatment condition such as treatment time, pressure and temperature was examined by AFM, SEM, ATR-IR and WAXD. |
