Zostera marina is a species of seagrass known with common names of eelgrass and seawrack. Rosmarinic acid is an ester of caffeic acid (3,4-dihydroxyphenyllactic acid). Ionic liquid (IL) and deep eutectic solvent (DES) as "green solvents", have attracted attentions on their applications because of their special physical and chemical properties. In this study, three factors of extraction conditions such as, extraction method, extraction solvent and ratio of solvent to raw material, were optimized. Comparison of the effect of IL with DES, the extraction yield of DES is better than IL. The optimum extraction were found: 0.19 mg/g of caffeic acid and 8.48 mg/g of rosmarinic acid were extracted from 0.005 g of raw root powder by 0.5 g of DES as additive in 5 mL methanol with dipping extraction for 30 min. |
