제목 Effect of the addition of zeolite into Ni-Mg-alumina catalyst on the catalytic activity in CO2 methanation
초록 The methanation of CO2 is an important catalytic process with respect to potential commercial application for the reduction of CO2 emission in recent decades. Among the various metal-based heterogeneous catalysts, supported Ni catalysts have been widely investigated for industrial purposes due to their low cost and versatile availability. The catalyst supports including silica, alumina, zeolites, CeO2, TiO2, MgO, etc. were generally used independently or as a mixed form, where the mixed oxide materials exhibited high catalytic performance in the previous literature. In the present work, the Ni-Mg-alumina catalyst was prepared using a co-precipitation method. Moreover, the small-pore zeolite (5-10 wt%) was added to the Ni-Mg-alumina catalyst and physically well-mixed. The catalyst containing zeolite exhibited the higher CO2 conversion with a comparable selectivity to CH4 at 300-400 oC in comparison with the Ni-Mg-alumina counterpart.
