Today, renewable natural resources are considering as a important materials in the industry due to the high price of petroleum raw materials and pollution problems. Among the various candidates, Castor oil is well known as a one of the most important renewable resources for the production of many industrial polymers. Hyperbranched polyurethane oligomer(HBPO) has been attracted in various fields because of their unique structural architecture and outstanding performance. The unique structure of HBPO show the lower viscosity and higher solubility in comparison with that of linear polyurethane. In the present study, castor oil based HBPO were synthesized. The molecular weight and solubility of HBPO was controlled by addition of NCO terminated castor oil based polyurethane prepolymer, HEA, and mono alcohols. It is postulated that castor oil based HBPO show good solubility in various solvent and polymers and its low cost will be strength for expanding its application to the various fields. |
