Hyperbranched polymers have received much research attention because of their unique properties based on three-dimensional shape. Especially, hyperbranched polyamidoamine(PAMAM) which possess functional amine and amide groups can bind and separate various kinds of heavy metal ions in aqueous solution. In this study, we developed a process to fabricate 50~300μm PAMAM particles. These particles were prepared via inverse suspension polymerization with N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide, ethylenediamine. Detailed synthesis and characterization of the particles and their swelling ratio and metal ion absorption behavior will be presented. |
