Inkjet Printable and Rewriteable Structural Color Paper |

Nonvolatile and rewriteable display devices are in great interest for smart technologies such as displays, sensors and encryption. Reversible external stimulus to write/erase the structural color (SC) of a film using an ink-jet printer would enable production of low cost, re-writeable displays. We envisioned locally controlling the SC via the extent of reversible chemical cross-linking of a large area block copolymer (BCP) photonic crystal (PC) thin film at programmed positions. Full colored SC patterns could then be simply obtained by swelling agent. |
