CBD grown oriented hexagonal fecets ZnO nanorods and its photoluminescent properties |

c- axis vertically aligned hexagonal facet ZnO nanorods were synthesized onto amorphous glass substrate through simple chemical method. The ZnO nanorods have diameter 150 nm and length about 2μm with clearly distinguished polar and non-polar faces. The photoluminescent spectra of hexagonal facets ZnO nanorods exhibits yellow emission centered at 550 nm. The yellow emission is commonly attributed to oxygen interstatial defects. Our results demonstrate that the chemically grown hexagonal facets ZnO nanorods are promising for the fabrication of cost effective lasers. |
