Highly Sensitive Colloidal Pressure Sensors Fabricated by Using PEDOT:PSS/PEI multi-layered PU Elastomer Microparticles |

This study introduces a novel colloidal pressure sensing platform in which poly (3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene):poly (styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is coated on monodisperse polyurethane (PU) elastomer microparticles with the controlled number of layers by using the layer-by-layer deposition. The monodisperse PU microparticles are synthesized in micro-capillary devices. Combining the characteristics of elasticity and conductivity, PEDOT:PSS-multilayered PU microparticles show remarkable pressure sensing performance in the broad pressure range from 5 kPa to 200 kPa and with excellent sensitivity fromA 10-8 A~10-5 A. The results obtained in this study highlight that our colloidal pressure sensors would find a great applicability to development of a new type of stretchable, flexible sensing devices. |
