A new approach to remove heavy metal ions from industry wastewater is molecular imprinting polymer (MIP). In this works, double-imprinted polymer beads are formed by suspension polymerization. These beads are used to separate metal ions for industry application (like column exchange). Chemicals used in reactions are familiar in MIP method: MAA (methacrylic acid) and 4-vinylpyridine as monomers and EGDMA (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) as cross-linker agents. Study the selectivity of metal ions separation by HPLC. The other analyses such as: TGA, FTIR, ESEM, etc… are also used to determine the properties of polymer beads. |
