Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) is one of the II-VI semiconducting nano-materials, having novel fundamental properties and diverse applications such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), electroluminescence, flat panel displays, infrared windows, catalyzators, chemical sensors, biosensors, lasers and biodevices, etc. However, the research and development (R&D) of ZnS application has not been investigated in much detail relative to the other inorganic semiconductors, despite of its remarkable versatility and prospective potentiality. In this study, we analyzed the recent technical trends and current status of R&D of ZnS application based on the global patent information. Furthermore, we provided new technical insight of the ZnS applicable fields using in-depth analysis. The patent information analysis in this report will be utilized in the process to identify the current positioning of technology and the direction of future R&D. |
