제목 Glycerol steam reforming focused on carbon deposit
초록 In this work, hydrogen production from glycerol by Steam Reforming (SR) process is studied by using Ni-Metal Oxide catalysts. As already many papers reported, Ni is an appropriate for SR reaction because it’s price is cheap and the activity is also great. However, Ni based catalyst suffer deactivation by formation of coke and sintering. So, the aim of this study is to reduce carbon deposit on catalyst by using metal oxide as promoter. Ni-Metal Oxide Catalysts supported on Al₂O₃ were prepared by impregnation method and the calcined catalyst was reduced with H2 flow for 2hr prior to the reaction. The surface area, reducibility properties, quantity of coke deposit and catalyst shape is examined by BET, TPR, TGA and SEM respectively. It was found that Ni-Fe-Ce/Al2O3 catalyst which contains Ce below 2 wt.% showed the highest hydrogen selectivity, glycerol conversion and the smallest carbon deposit at reaction temperature of 450 ℃, water : glycerol ratio of 4 :1 and GHSV = 6,000 mL/g-cat.hr.
